Dear Families,
It
is amazing how quickly time passes when you have a couple of big projects to
finish up and you just need more time! The
children are working hard on their animal iMovies. We watched or talked through almost all of
them with some 5th graders that came to watch and give feedback to
help them improve their movie. We will
work on those edits next week. As we
continue to talk about community, this week we looked at saving money vs.
spending money. In math, we are
finishing up unit 8 which pulls together much of the learning from this year
before we finish the year with our last geometry unit. This week we talked
about how to use a dissenting opinion when we write. For example, some people may say that
chocolate bars are the best because they are creamy. I think peanut candy bars are better because
they are crunchy.
I
hope you enjoyed the great performance the children did and their wonderful
back drop. It is one of the cutest murals
I have seen. The children loved their
first robotics class last week. Today
they will program the robots they worked with last week. What a wonderful experience this is for them.
Next
week is the book fair in the library. It
is open before school, after school and at lunch time. We will visit the book fair Monday
morning. If you are going to send money
with your child, please let me know. I
will then send them at lunch and make sure the money does not get lost. The Art Gala is Friday, April 28th.
The choir will perform at 5:30. The
garden committee will be there and you will view the art that your children created
this year. I look forward to seeing you
at the Art Gala.
Have a great weekend!
Mrs. Berk
