Dear Families,
Your
children make me smile! The stories they
share, the ideas they have and insights they make show how much they have grown
so far this year. Tonight, is the talent
show. It is at 6 pm at school! Next week we have full days Monday and
Tuesday, November 21st and 22nd. If you will not be here, please make sure you
let the office know. The Sunrise Drive
Food Drive started this week and continues through December 13th. Please send in any non-perishable foods to
the classroom.
This
week we started making a map where we talk about all the different types of
landforms. These will come home just
before the Thanksgiving vacation after we have completed them. In Poetry, we are discussing the main idea of
the poem, so not just the images we understand, but using that image to come up
with a complete idea. This week we
worked on conventions, we edited and put all the lowercase letters in the
correct place. We put in periods and
exclamation points.
Next
week we will have two regular days. We
will talk about Thanksgiving, finish up our short vowel sounds before we move
on to two letter blends. We will start
on our next math unit, Unit 4. In social
studies, we will finish up our map unit and then start a unit on Winter
Traditions and teaching the steps of science inquiry.
Report
Cards are available on Parentvue starting today. Please feel free to email if you have any
questions and we can set up a time to meet and talk about your child’s report
card. We will not have library next
week; you can send your child’s books in or keep them until after the
Thanksgiving break. Please remember that
homework is not due until Tuesday, November 22nd. That is when their folders will go home again
with the next homework.
Have
a great weekend!
Mrs.
