Dear Families,
It has been another fun week of getting to know your children.  They are starting to catch on to our routines.  Thursday we played multiple math games at the same time.  It was great to watch how well they are working together.  One of our favorite books that we read this week is Animalia.  The kids have found all the different items on each page interesting to think about and talk about.  We have been reading a couple pages each day while we eat snack.  We also finished our first chapter book called “The Littles”.  We may have to read more about their adventures as the children want to know what happens next.  In science/social studies we talked about how to keep our emotions healthy through communication and conflict resolution.  We will continue to talk about this throughout the year.  This week we focused on clear communication and treating others the way you want to be treated.  Next week we will move on to how we keep our bodies healthy through food.  We have finished many of our beginning of the year assessments.  We have a couple left and then we can start things like spelling.  I want to thank all the families that came to Curriculum Night.  If you were not able to make it, in your child’s folder are the handouts from that night.  Please remember the first grade curriculum is posted on the CFSD website for your review at all times.
All newsletters will be posted online every Friday.  Homework came home in their folders today, along with some of their work from this week.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
